Kelowna’s Big White Ski Resort is getting ready to welcome guests for the winter season in just under a month and adding to an already-exciting build-up to opening day, one of the mountain’s popular restaurant concepts just provided an additional cause for clamour.

When the mountain opens up on November 24, Six Degrees Bistro and Underground Pizza will also reopen their doors with renowned chef Shelley Robinson at the helm as the new culinary director.

The award-winning chef and Top Chef Canada Season 4 alum has basically done it all, from operating multiple restaurants to authoring cookbooks, to competing with Canada on the world stage. Chef Robinson has always had an affinity for local, seasonal, and sustainable cooking, which seems to pair perfectly with the hyper-local approach employed by the two eateries.

While there will likely be more in-depth information revealed in the time leading up to opening day, the restaurants’ initial announcements explained that chef Robinson will bring her distinctive spin to new flavours at Underground Pizza and will showcase an authentic Alpine cuisine at Six Degrees.
