Two of Vancouver’s top bartenders announced an exciting virtual collaboration this week in celebration of International Women’s Day that will provide viewers with a full day of fitness, finance, food, and beverage events led by expert women in their respective fields.

Conceived by Amber Bruce (Keefer Bar, Yard) and Sabrine Dhaliwal (The Chickadee Room, Juke Fried Chicken), the Choose to Challenge Series will take place on March 7 and will feature four virtual seminars that span throughout the day.

Seminars include a fitness session with local boxers and personal trainers Jamie Ward-Yassin (Hero Athletics) and Jana Finkbiner (Seconds Out), a financial literacy seminar led by author Karen Law, an Afrocentric plant-based cooking session with Kula Kitchen’s Asha Wheeldon, and a cocktail class with Bruce, Dhaliwal and Kelly Ann Woods of Boozewitch Shrubs.

Although each session is free to attend, the duo is accepting registration by donation with a suggested donation of $20 per session to help support charity partner Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre

Participants are invited to stop by The Chickadee Room after the event to enjoy cocktails, snacks from Juke Fried Chicken, and an all-80s-ladies playlist. Tickets can be reserved online.
