10 new songs by Canadian artists to add to your kitchen playlist - April 10, 2020 edition

We've added these 10 great songs to Eat North's Cooking Playlist on Spotify

Another week, another list of recipes we've conquered in our home kitchens. We're counting down the days until we can have dinner parties again, but until then, we've got our Spotify kitchen playlist on repeat with a great mix of Canadian-made music.

Here are 10 awesome new songs by Canadian artists that we've added to our playlist. Take a listen!

August Rigo - Kill me

Having written songs for the likes of One Republic and Justin Bieber, it's only a matter of time before August Rigo himself takes off in the music industry. Don't let the intense title scare you off; "Kill Me" has such an infectious beat.

Chantal Kreviazuk - Get to You

This quick and catchy release from Canada's most iconic piano-driven musicians has some sad undertones, but a toe-tapping pace you can't deny.

Josh David - Safe Place to Break

We’re not sure where Josh David came from, but 15 seconds into his debut single, and you can tell by his voice that he’s got some hurt and a story to tell.

Kristin Carter - Home Tonight

With a nearly unparalleled voice in the Canadian country scene, Kristin Carter shows how powerful her vocals can still be when they're restrained is this new, stripped down song that she co-wrote with Kalsey Kulyk.

Nice Horse - Hot Mess

Some of the lyrics in the latest single by all-female country-pop group Nice Horse are all too relatable during these social distancing days. "Hot Mess" is definitely a departure from their previous releases, so we're excited to hear more new tunes from this talented band.

Nicole Rayy - Unfinished

This mid-tempo, heartbreak ballad off of Rayy's new album is a fun one to sing along with and all about those "what if" moments. Who hasn't had one of those?

Shawnee - Building a Wall

With a powerhouse voice, CBC Searchlight 2020 winner Shawnee never ceases to amaze us. The singer's latest single "Building a Wall" is about being guarded from life experiences and showcases Shawnee's ability to emote effortlessly.

Tasha Angela - Lost in Nostalgia

This dreamy track from Tasha Angela's new EP Hidden Gems is the perfect song to listen to help you escape reality for a little while.

Whitney Rose - In a Rut

Whitney Rose is like a mix of Lucinda Williams and Tanya Tucker with a splash or two of No Doubt (circa Tragic Kingdom), and we can't get enough. Her latest single "In a Rut" features energetic vocals and some great guitar riffs.

Wyclef Jean - Distance

Seemingly inspired by social distancing, Wyclef's new track is a cool and comforting listen during these unusual times.
