Calgary's acclaimed Deane House reopens

The iconic Inglewood Institution reopens its doors today for dine-in services

Almost 13 months ago to the day, Calgary’s acclaimed Deane House had just finished an extensive series of restorations and refurbishments and for a brief two month period, patrons of the popular Inglewood eatery were once again able to enjoy the signature seasonal cuisine of chef Chris Barton inside of the historical 114-year-old cultural landmark.

Although Deane House’s weekly Dinner In Your Home curbside pickup program has remained in high demand throughout the pandemic, Calgarians will be pleased to hear that following recent amendments to the city’s COVID-19 restrictions, Deane House has decided to reopen its doors for dine-in services today.

For dinner, guests can expect an array of dishes brimming with local ingredients. Chef Jason Barton-Browne has created menu items like Alberta beef tartare with Brassica mustard, confit garlic, and chickpea crisps and the ember-roasted beets with goat cheese and turmeric-honey vinaigrette, to mains such as the Heart Rock Ranch duck with pear, celery root, duck confit samosa and the Gruger Farm smoked oyster mushroom with coconut basmati rice, bok choy, and buckwheat.

On the weekend, classic brunch staples such as eggs Benedict, crispy waffles, and a selection of fresh-baked pastries will be on offer along with a slew of casual fare that ranges from fresh-shucked oysters and muscles to charcuterie, burgers, and more.

Deane House opens tonight at 5 p.m. with reservations available for weekend brunch and for dinner service Thursday through Sunday. Details regarding Deane House's COVID-19 protocals and safety measures can be found online
