While the late beer hall Wurst was undeniably the place to celebrated Oktoberfest in Calgary each fall, there are still plenty of offerings around town filling the Germanic void.
Until October 3, National on 17th (as well as its sister locations on 10th Ave S.W., 8th Ave S.W. and Westhills) will be serving up a couple feature dishes and German-style beer to help Calgarians have a casual Oktoberfest celebration at their leisure. Time to dust off that ledehosen!
For starters, there's "perogy" tater tots with crumbled sausage, dill, sauerkraut and sour cream. The house-made "brat on a bun" sees a house-made bratwurst, topped generously with warm beer cheese, mustard and sauerkraut.
To wash it all down there's the Annex Ales' Bellwether Munich Lager. The feature tap for the festivities is described as "a festbier that is well-balanced and slightly malt forward with a soft mouthfeel, crisp taste and fast finish."
All National Beerhall locations will be offering the 2022 Oktoberfest feature menu until Monday, October 3.
