After being held at the dock in 2018, due mainly to low water levels and infrastructure repair work, Calgary’s historical Heritage Park is welcoming back the legendary S.S. Moyie and its Captain’s Cruises for the 2019 summer season.
On Thursday, July 9, Calgary’s only paddlewheel boat will make its triumphant return to the Glenmore Reservoir for its first-ever Stampede Country Cruise.
The inaugural Western-themed event will feature live entertainment from country music star Matt Masters, dancing, and a country-inspired tasting menu with offerings that range from braised duck confit crostini to charcuterie with in-house cured meats and jerky.
On July 18, the S.S. Moyie will return to the reservoir for the first regular Captain’s Cruise of the season, and will continue to do so every Thursday evening for the rest of the summer.
Like the Country Cruise, there will be assortments of food, live music, and stunning unobstructed views of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Additionally, each cruise offers a cash bar with regional craft beer and cider offerings from Big Rock Brewery, as well as locally-crafted cocktails from Eau Claire Distillery.
The two-hour cruises depart from Heritage Park dock at 6:15 p.m. and are going for $74.95 per person.
