The restaurant scene in Calgary has had its share of ups and downs this summer, but one thing that has remained consistent is the seemingly endless interesting eating opportunities Calgarians have.

On the heels of Stampede, Food Day Canada, and the upcoming Taste of Calgary, the city’s third annual Summer Feast is returning to Calgary, and this year, there are more participating restaurants than ever before.

The 10-day food festival will run from August 16 to 25, bringing together a number of Calgary’s top chef-driven restaurants to serve Calgarians their best culinary creations by way of prix fixe menus that range from $25 to $65.

The 27 participating restaurants include returning Calgary veterans like The Guild, Teatro, and Model Milk, to name a few. Joining the fray for the first time are some exciting newcomers like Lulu Bar, Buffo Ristorante, and Elbow Room.

"Summer Feast is a great time for people to go out and show the city that the culinary community is alive and that we also work great together,” says Michel Nop, executive chef of Buffo Ristorante. “It also lets the chefs get creative and use seasonal produce outside of their regular offerings.”

This year’s conglomeration of Summer Feast participants have partnered up with Mealshare, whose program provides healthy meals to youth and kids in need. Reservations for each restaurant can be made through OpenTable.
