Few festive occasions in Calgary garner more anticipation than the return of Ship and Anchor’s beloved charitable Shipnog, and we are delighted to report that the day we’ve all been waiting for is now less than two weeks away.
In addition to being a downright delicious drink, the annual holiday beverage has worked to raise a significant amount of funds for local charities over the years, including the Calgary Drop In Centre, Awo Taan Healing Lodge Society, and the Centre For Newcomers LGBTQ+ Services.
Thanks in part to the addition of a very cool bottle-version—which is also back for 2022—the Ship’s charitable nog program helped to raise more than $48,000 last year. This year, the iconic 17 Avenue pub is hoping to raise the total to over $60,000.
The Ship and Anchor’s Shipnog returns on November 19 with $5 from every glass and $10 from every bottle going directly to local charities. Bottles will be available for offsale purchase during operating hours from November 19 to December 31.
