Known for its fun and vibrant creations, both by way of visuals and flavour combinations, Vancouver's Potluck Hawker Eatery has just unveiled an extensive menu refresh for the first time since opening last fall.
Just in time for spring, there's plenty of refreshing and creative dishes to try like chef Justin Cheung's Potluck Chili Dip (an interpretation of a Cambodian Prahok Ktis, made with coconut, pork, fermented seafood, and aromatics like lime leaf), a vegan beet and apple salad brimming with fresh herbs, "fish" sauce and garlic oil, and wok-fried B.C. mussels with black pepper butter and Thai basil.
“This is our first big menu update since opening and our guests have been asking us to include lunch favourites on the dinner menu for awhile now,” explains Potluck's co-owner and chef Cheung. “This includes the Nasi Lemaks and salted egg yolk chicken sando. We also added in new salads, seafood, and vegetarian options as springtime means more fresh, locally-sourced ingredients."
There's plenty of bright cocktails perfectly fitting for spring like the Spiked Thai Tea as well as sweet treats like the Milo Roti, filled with condensed milk and malted chocolate powder.
I'll take two...of each.
For the impending Easter weekend, Vancouverites will be able to order the restaurant's buzzworthy Whole Dungeness Crab Feast packages. Available for pickup only from April 2-4, the full menu description for the seafood feast as well as pre-order options can be found online.
Potluck Hawker Eatery is open Tuesdays to Sundays for lunch, dinner, and cocktails.
