This week, Victoria plant-based company The Very Good Butchers announced the launch of a new line of premium gluten and soy-free sausages, burgers, and meatballs.
The new Butcher’s Select lineup features a range of chef-driven products made with minimally-processed ingredients such as pea protein, navy beans, chickpeas, and hemp seeds, which combine to create a meaty texture and taste beyond that which is typically available in other plant-based meat alternatives on the market.
“We created The Very Good Butchers brand to prove to consumers that making very good food choices doesn’t mean sacrificing taste or quality,” said Mitchell Scott, co-founder and CEO of The Very Good Food Company. “\Tired of the overly processed meat alternatives available, we’re raising the plant-based bar by using only simple ingredients that make you feel good.”
The new line will feature 90 per cent reusable packaging and will include options like the thyme-infused Flippin’ Good Burger, a protein-packed Italian meatball, and a Cajun sausage made with jalapenos, bell peppers, and organic vegetables.
The Very Good Butchers’ new products will be available online through a limited release later this summer, with a full retail rollout across North America planned for the coming fall.
