As the season continues to change, one thing that never changes in Canada is the myriad of seemingly endless culinary opportunities happening across the country. 

Out on the East Coast, The Carleton is putting on a fantastic four-course dinner paired with wines from the Society for American Wines with a live musical performance. In P.E.I., the International Shellfish Festival is taking place. Guests will get a chance to meet some celebrity chefs while celebrating the region’s remarkable seafood bounty. 

In Ontario, Toronto’s Kodede Multinational Food Festival is bringing together food from all over the world, while in Ottawa, the Artisan Cheese Festival will see many of the country’s top experts come together to display some of the best cheese in the world. 

In the west, Edmonton’s Bacon Day Collaboration will celebrate all things bacon while supporting the noble In The Weeds initiatives. And in Victoria, the three-day wine festival is a great chance for wine-lovers to learn and sample from more than 300 wines selected by the festival’s board of sommeliers.

Ride to Remember (Calgary, AB) - Sunday, September 15, 2019

Ill-Fated Kustoms will play host to Ride to Remember, where Devin Cooper will be joined by fellow country artist Mariya Stokes to raise awareness and support the Alzheimer’s Society. In addition to some extraordinary live music, this event will feature craft beer from Legend 7 Brewing and a selection of snacks. 

As an added bonus, Ill-Fated Kustoms is located right down the street from the new Annex Ales Adult Soda Shop, where guests can head after the fundraiser for a burger and soda.

Tickets to Ride to Remember cost $20.

Wines, Dinner and Music at The Carleton (Halifax, N.S.) - Thursday, September 19, 2019

The Carleton’s chef Michael Dolente has put together a fantastic four-course dinner, which will be paired with wines from the Society for American Wines (SAW) Halifax. In addition to an incredible dining opportunity highlighted by dishes like apple-brined roasted chicken with confit leg, pomme puree, and glazed asparagus, guests will also be treated to live music from local musician Laura Merrimen

Tickets cost $95 for SAW members and $110 for non-members.

Prince Edward Island’s Shellfish Festival is back to celebrate the region’s world-famous shellfish. Celebrity chefs Lynn Crawford and Michael Smith will be on location for a packed schedule of culinary competitions like the Garland Canada International Chef Challenge and the Junior Chef Challenge. Guests will get to indulge in a plethora of offerings and are invited to take part in the evening’s Eastlink kitchen dance party.  

Tickets range from $18 to $42.

The Bacon Day Collaboration is back in Edmonton for its 10th anniversary to celebrate bacon and support In The Weeds, which works to create a healthy and safe working environment for all members of the Edmonton hospitality community. This year’s event will see the return of the whole roasted pig, a myriad of bacon-themed snacks, a bacon dessert cook-off, and liquid libations provided by Baseline Wine and Spirits

Tickets cost $95 and include food, two drink tickets, and one vote in the bacon dessert cook-off. All proceeds go toward In The Weeds initiatives.

Artisan Cheese Festival (Ottawa, ON) - Saturday, September 21, 2019

The Artisan Cheese Festival is an incredible opportunity to sample artisan cheeses from more than a dozen of Canada’s top cheese experts. There will be cheese made with milk from cow, sheep, goat, water buffalo, as well as vegan "cheeses". Additionally, guests will be treated to live music from local bands, cheesemaker chats, and a generous selection of hard-to-find Canadian wines. 

Tickets range from $20 to $37.

Kodede Multinational Food Festival (Toronto, ON) - Friday, September 20, 2019

Kodede, which means Go Eat, brings together food from all over the world from chefs, caterers, restaurants, and mobile food vendors. In addition to the vast array of food options, the event will feature live music, arts, and dance performances.

Tasting tickets are $4 each but you can sample food from 10 countries for $20 or from unlimited countries for $50.

This three-day festival aims to educate, demonstrate, and offer samples of over 300 wines from around the world. All representing wineries are selected by a board of sommeliers who pride themselves on offering new experiences each year, and will also be in attendance to guide guests through the festival. This year's featured region is Argentina.

Tickets range from $40 to $200.
