Nova Scotia Spirit Co. offers virtual cocktail classes for a great cause

Award-winning bartender Shane Beehan is mixing up holiday-themed cocktails in support of Feed Nova Scotia

Like most of the country, Nova Scotia’s food and beverage community is currently settling in for yet another indefinite period of public closures. And while the latest restrictions continue to pose a plethora of problems for Canada’s foodservice sector, one Nova Scotia bartender is keeping the holiday spirit alive for a great cause with a festive cocktail-focused livestream presented by Nova Scotia Spirit Co.

Last week, acclaimed bartender Shane Beehan debuted the first in a three-part series on Facebook and Instagram where he highlights a holiday cocktail, breaks down its ingredients and tasting notes, and demonstrates how to make it.

For each person that signs up to watch the livestream, Nova Scotia Spirit Co. will donate $5 to Feed Nova Scotia.

Feed Nova Scotia distributes almost 2 million kilograms of donated food to its network of 140 food banks and meal programs across the province. Through distribution, education, and collaboration, Feed Nova Scotia works to raise awareness to the challenges posed by hunger and poverty, while supporting its members as they serve their communities on a daily basis.

Nova Scotia Spirit Co. has also committed to contributing an additional $20 donation from each sale of its Christmas Cheers! Bundle, and $1 from each 12-pack of its ready-to-drink Blue Lobster cocktails sold at the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation.

This week’s livestream is set to take place Friday, December 11 at 8 p.m. (AST) and will feature a step-by-step demonstration of Beehan’s cranberry Christmas cosmopolitan.
