The second release in Beta5’s 12-part 2020 chef collaboration series was just unveiled, this time teaming up with Middle Eastern restaurant and food truck, Superbaba.
The Superhalva chocolate bar collaboration marks the second time the Vancouver chocolate and pastry shop has worked alongside Superbaba, and Beta5 co-owner and pastry chef Adam Chandler says the two parties have kept their natural synergy.
“We worked with Dallah and the talented Superbaba team last summer for an ice cream social and the Superhalva chocolate bar came so naturally,” explains Chandler. “There are so many incredible Middle Eastern flavours and halva is one of our favourites.”
The Superhalva is uniquely two-toned, with milk on one side and muscovado sugar on the other. The chocolate bar is 46 per cent milk chocolate with corn flakes, flaked salt and crumbled halva.
Each month, Beta5 will partner with a different chef in Vancouver to create a different and unique bar. The first collaboration with Downlow Chicken Shack, Side of Milk (dark chocolate, hot chicken spice, and crispy chicken skin) sold out quickly, so we don’t expect the Superhalva to be available for long.
The Superhalva is $11 and available now until March 15, 2020, exclusively at Beta5, the Superbaba food truck, and Café Medina.
